IHG Hotels & Resorts is growing its presence in Mexico with six new voco hotels, part of a partnership with Alliance Hotels, slated to open in 2027 across key commercial hubs.
The properties—located in Cancun, Guadalajara, Ciudad Juarez, San Luis Potosi, Torreon and Nuevo Laredo—will add 848 rooms to IHG’s portfolio in Mexico. The company currently operates four voco hotels in the country, with another five in the pipeline. Globally, the voco brand has some 102 hotels open or under development.
“These signings mark a significant step in the brand’s regional growth and our ability to offer greater choice nationwide,” Paul Adan, IHG’s SVP of development for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, said in a statement.
In Guadalajara, the voco Guadalajara Expo Area will open across from Expo Guadalajara with 163 rooms designed to serve conference and business travelers. In Cancun, a 160-room property will include meeting spaces and wellness areas near the city’s hotel district. Nuevo Laredo, meanwhile, will be home to a 120-room voco hotel catering to business and leisure travelers near the Texas border.
Additional projects include the 124-room voco Torreon, serving the automotive and manufacturing industries in the Comarca Lagunera; a 135-room hotel in San Luis Potosi, located near major industrial parks in the city’s automotive hub; and a 146-room property in Ciudad Juarez, positioned near the U.S. Consulate and industrial corridors.
Alliance Hotels said the conversions would “enhance our offering and increase our visibility in highly competitive markets,” noting the partnership combines its local expertise with IHG’s global platform. The hotels will undergo renovations to incorporate voco’s brand features and social spaces as part of a broader corporate strategy from IHG in which conversions accounted for more than half of its global openings in the first half of 2025.
