Hyatt breaks ground on 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach

Hyatt—along with development partners Terra and Turnberry—has broken ground on the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, an 800-room hotel that will be directly connected to the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Slated to open in late 2027, the project is a result of a years-long collaboration between Hyatt, Terra, Turnberry, the City of Miami Beach and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“Grand Hyatt Miami Beach is one of Hyatt’s most anticipated openings globally and is a defining example of how we continue to expand in high-growth, high-demand destinations,” said Pete Sears, group president, Americas, Hyatt, in a statement. “This hotel will not only serve as a gateway to the energy and culture of Miami Beach but will also help elevate the city’s standing as a premier global destination for meetings and events. We’re proud to collaborate with Terra, Turnberry, the City of Miami Beach and Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau to bring to life this project that captures the energy, creativity and spirit that define this iconic destination.”

The hotel will include 52 suites with ocean and city views; four floors of dedicated meeting and ballroom space; a climate-controlled skybridge to the convention center; and Improved pedestrian and transit access throughout the district.
