Hunter Hotel Advisors placed a $35.5 million senior note for the Moxy Miami Wynwood. Baywood Hotels secured the financing from Synovus Bank on Jan. 31, with Hunter's Senior Vice President Charlie Ryan representing the borrower. This senior loan was a key component of a broader recapitalization for the Moxy.
The Moxy Miami Wynwood officially opened in October, developed through a 50/50 joint venture between Baywood Hotels and Dolphin Capital Partners.
“Thanks to Hunter, we were able to secure a loan that perfectly aligns with our goals,” Chris Desai of Baywood, said in a statement. “Their expertise and commitment to the deal were instrumental in securing aggressive terms that will fuel the long-term success of our project. The Moxy is the most centrally located hospitality and F&B project in Wynwood, offering a perfect blend of modern amenities, vibrant design and local flavors. The Moxy is set to become the go-to spot for anyone visiting the neighborhood.”
"We're delighted to facilitate financing for Moxy Miami Wynwood, a vibrant, unique addition to Wynwood," said Luis Cardenas from Synovus Bank. "This highlights our commitment to supporting the hospitality sector and properties that contribute significantly to the cultural fabric of their communities. The Moxy is poised to be a standout destination, and we're thrilled to be part of its journey and collaborate with Baywood Hotels, Dolphin Capital Partners, Suzer Group and the Hunter team."
Along with 120 keys and eight stories high, the Moxy has two signature restaurants: Sparrow Italia, an 8,000-square-foot modern Italian eatery with 203 seats, and Casa Madera, an 18,500-square-foot modern Mexican Mediterranean restaurant and rooftop club with 362 seats. Both restaurants are managed by Noble 33, an F&B operator. The hotel spans more than 110,000 square feet, with a fully equipped fitness center, event spaces and 49 parking spaces.
