Boutique hotel brand Lark Hotels, based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, has named Kai Gilsey as its SVP, operations.
Gilsey was most recently with Postcard Cabins (previously Getaway)—a direct-to-consumer hospitality wellness company. Gilsey spent more than eight years at Postcard, which was recently sold to Marriott International—ultimately assuming the position of COO before leaving in March.
Gilsey was raised in coastal New England next to the resort his grandparents built in 1945. This property was his first job and remains his family’s business. Further back, his ancestors opened The Gilsey House in 1871 in New York City. Gilsey’s background also includes positions with five-star properties in Manhattan, such as The Greenwich Hotel and The Baccarat Hotel, where he was director of front office and director of front office operations, respectively.
Lark Hotels, launched in 2012, is a hotel development and management company with a portfolio of more than 50 boutique hotels in the Northeast, Southeast and in California.
