JW Marriott has opened its first property in Virginia with the debut of JW Marriott Reston Station, a 247-room hotel located in the Reston Station mixed-use development outside Washington, D.C.
The hotel—which was developed by Washington, D.C.-based Comstock—includes 14 junior suites, four executive suites and a presidential suite. The property also features 14 “Mindful Rooms,” which represents a new concept designed to support wellness routines with features such as circadian lighting, yoga mats and personalized sleep and wellness consultations.
“The opening of JW Marriott Reston Station is particularly meaningful for the brand, given its proximity to JW Marriott’s roots in Washington, D.C.,” Bruce Rohr, vp and global brand leader at JW Marriott, said in a statement.
“JW Marriott Reston Station represents the culmination of Comstock’s decades-long vision to create a new, world-class, transit-oriented destination at Reston Station,” said Chris Clemente, CEO of Comstock. “This property not only elevates the region’s hospitality landscape, it also honors Reston’s founding vision as a community designed to seamlessly integrate living, working and recreation in spaces that showcase public art by world-class artists, concerts and other cultural events.”
Dining options include The Simon, a Mid-Atlantic restaurant with French and Mediterranean influences; Schar Bar, a cocktail lounge; and JW Market, a café and bakery. The property also features an on-site garden providing herbs and produce for its menus.
With more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including an 11,700-square-foot ballroom, the hotel has the largest luxury meeting venue in Northern Virginia. Public art installations, including Building Bridges by Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn, are integrated into the property and surrounding community spaces.
