Midas Hospitality completes dual-branded complex in Nebraska

Midas Hospitality has completed development a dual-branded hotel under a pair of Marriott flags with the opening of the Fairfield Inn and Suites and Towneplace Suites, which are connected to the Harrah’s Racing and Casino in Columbus, Neb.

The hotel—which will be managed by St. Louis-based Midas Hospitality—was built by local family-owned Foreman Lumber.  The adjoining racing and casino venue came about following the passage of three Nebraska constitutional amendments in 2020, which legalized casino gambling adjacent to horse racing venues in the state.

“My family was approached about putting a hotel next to the casino and racetrack to enhance it as tourist attraction,” Craig Foreman, who owns and operates Foreman Lumber, said in a statement.  “We met with David Robert of Midas Hospitality and his company is pretty down to earth and easy to work with. They clearly understood the value of linking the hotel to the casino for a small town like Columbus.”

The hotel is designed to accommodate short-term and long-term stays with the 54-room Fairfield Inn and Suites and the 48-room Townplace Suites. The hotel includes a number of amenities, including a fitness center, swimming pool, business center, outdoor patio with outdoor grilling, same day laundry service, meeting room, flex space and complimentary breakfast.

“Midas Hospitality is very proficient at what they do,” added Foreman. “From design to construction to readying the hotel for occupancy, they helped make the Fairfield Inn and Suites and Townplace Suites an immense success.”
