The Garden District Hotel has made its debut in New Orleans further boosting the boutique hotel landscape in the city’s Garden District while joining the recently opened Blackbird Hotel. The two hotels—which debuted in June 2025 and late 2024, respectively—are both operated by Dallas-based Dreamscape Hospitality.
“New Orleans is a one-of-a-kind destination that thoughtfully preserves its history while embracing growth, so this is an exciting time for us to bring our expertise and commitment to curating exceptional guest experiences to the boutique lifestyle space,” Adam Patenaude, president of Dreamscape Hospitality, said in a statement. “We are proud to join the city’s renowned hospitality landscape with hotels that truly celebrate the spirit of the Garden District.”
Designed by Jeannine Jacob Interiors, The Garden District Hotel’s interiors look to channel tropical ease and elegance with moody corners and open-air courtyards. Each of the 47 guestrooms feature rich textures and elevated finishes, and have been inspired by the city’s majestic, centuries-old residences.
The District Suite—the hotel’s most expansive accommodation—is a two-level destination with vaulted ceilings, a secondary loft living room and an expansive layout. In addition, select rooms such as the Deluxe Loft Queen offer a private balcony overlooking oak-lined streets and historic buildings. The hotel also features a heated saltwater pool with a swim-up bar, as well as the Garden Bar located just off the lobby.
Meanwhile, The Blackbird Hotel was formerly a children’s home centuries ago and is located one block away from the Garden District Hotel, its sister property. The Blackbird Hotel embodies its name with a black exterior and is crafted to evoke intimacy, intrigue and intent. Designed to reflect the classic estates of the Garden district, the hotel’s 13 guestrooms are layered in tone and texture.
“Today’s travelers are drawn to destinations with personality and authenticity so we designed these properties to have unique, well-defined characters and signature offerings while still complementing each other,” said Ceptember Evans, area general manager at The Garden District Hotel and The Blackbird Hotel. “Each hotel reflects New Orleans’ treasured diversity and the cultural fabric of the neighborhood, introducing a new chapter of hospitality anchored in tradition and connection.”
