Connecticut-based hospitality-management company Waterford Hotel Group has assumed management of the dual-branded Aloft Arundel Mills BWI Airport and Element Arundel Mills BWI Airport properties, both near the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). This is Waterford's first property in the Baltimore market.
The two Marriott-branded properties are close to BWI, Arundel Mills Mall, Maryland Live! Casino and Fort Meade. Aloft Arundel Mills has loft-style guest rooms, the W XYZ bar with live music, the grab-and-go Re:fuel by Aloft snack bar, a fitness center and approximately 540 square feet of event space. Element Arundel Mills, designed for longer stays, has apartment-style accommodations with fully equipped kitchenettes, an indoor saline pool, a 24-hour fitness center, pet-friendly options and eco-conscious design features focused on sustainability.
"Managing both Aloft and Element at Arundel Mills allows Waterford to bring fresh energy, operational expertise, and a guest-first approach to a unique dual-brand platform," Michael Heaton, president of Waterford Hotel Group, said in a statement. "This milestone marks an exciting expansion into the Baltimore market, and we look forward to enhancing these properties through our deep understanding of Marriott standards and our culture of hospitality."
