Mobile ordering and guest experience platform provider IRIS has partnered with Travel Curious to provide hotels with additional revenue opportunities through an expanded lineup of activities.
Under the new agreement, hotel operators that have the IRIS Digital Guest Directory will be able to offer curated local tour experiences through its integration with Travel Curious, an experiences-commerce platform. Currently accessible to all Marriott-branded hotels, all the experiences will be bookable and payable online delivering a wide breadth of services to guests and additional revenue streams to operators.
“Our core focus when building and developing the IRIS platform is to ensure we are enhancing the efficiency and experience on both sides of the app for guests and operators alike,” Graham Rushin, vp, sales and marketing at IRIS, said in a statement. “The acceleration in demand for, and engagement with, mobile ordering and local guest experiences continues apace. Investing in and extending the capabilities of mobile ordering enables hoteliers not only to keep up with this demand but also, importantly, add additional revenue streams and increase profitability. We look forward to extending these opportunities to further operators worldwide in collaboration with the Travel Curious team.”
Experiences available include city guides and private tours of local attractions, on which hoteliers will be able to earn commission. This is in addition to extending the options to book additional on-property services and activities such as room upgrades, early check-in/late check-out, health and spa bookings—including treatments and gym class sessions—as well as F&B reservations and meeting rooms.
IRIS and Travel Curious will facilitate the curation of experiences and services hotel operators wish to include as part of their Guest Directory. Guests can access the digital guest directory to book tours and experiences and tour booking links on pre-arrival guest communications, in addition to QR codes displayed both in-room and throughout the hotel to drive awareness and guest engagement. Hoteliers will also have the option to configure links to manage online credit-card payments.
